Stop lying about MH370, Anwar! Posted: 21 May 2014 08:02 PM PDT Putrajaya yesterday asked Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim to stop smearing Malaysia's image in the eyes of the world with regard to his allegation that the cargo manifest for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 had been deleted or covered up. I think its time for 'bro' Anwar to come to his senses too and treat Malaysia as how he did during his era in the Cabinet. In a brief statement, Putrajaya today denied allegations by Anwar that the cargo manifest for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 had been deleted or covered up.He wasn't sure whether his source was telling him the truth or not. Is it believed whoever told him that story was lying and harbors bad intention against MAS and the government. Politics aside, Anwar could have verified the source before telling it to others, unless he too wanted to burn down the country's good name and image abroad. The DCA and Immarsat are simplifying the raw data of MH370 before releasing it soon. This means, everything about the flight, its path, passengers and tracking will be made public. Hence, Anwar should wait before whacking the government again, if he wants to. On March 24, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya had said there were about 200kg of lithium batteries onboard the plane that were packed safely and more than four tonnes of mangosteens. The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and Inmarsat were working to simplify the raw data regarding Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 from the British satellite firm before releasing it to the public. The release of the raw data was expected to happen soon, DCA director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said yesterday, with the simplified version in the form of an accompanying technical explanation. This follows demand from the next-of-kin of those aboard MH370. |
Hosni Mubarak gets 3 years jail Posted: 21 May 2014 08:45 AM PDT A court in Egypt has sentenced former President Hosni Mubarak to three years in prison after finding him guilty of embezzling public funds. Mubarak, 86, is also on trial for abuse of power and conspiring in the killing of protesters during the 2011 uprising that forced him to resign. He was found guilty of the charge relating to the protesters in 2012 along with former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly, and sentenced to life in prison. But in January 2013 the Court of Cassation upheld an appeal by the two men against their convictions on technical grounds and ordered a retrial. In August, a court ordered Mubarak's release from prison and transfer to a military hospital in Cairo, where he is being held under house arrest. Gamal, the president's one-time heir apparent, and Alaa, a wealthy businessman, are also being retried on separate corruption charges. NOTE: Moral of the story - no one escapes the law, including our Malaysian politicians! |
Posted: 21 May 2014 04:45 AM PDT Seri Delima assemblyman RSN Rayer must be held responsible should the Penang Malays and elsewhere (especially Umno members) vent their anger unpleasantly that could easily spark racial riot over his statement that 'Umno is a celaka party'. I wonder if he simply uttered it to get some publicity but he should be well aware that the Malays had been constantly provoked by politicians like him. If he got balls, he should say in openly, publicly and not in the legislative building. Pro-Umno supporters stormed into the hall of the Penang Legislative Building this afternoon in an unprecedented assault on a Malaysian democratic institution. He forgot where he stands! As a wakil rakyat, he should observe what is supposed to be observed. Unless he really wants problem... a lot of problems! He must apologise... |
