General election every year

Pakatan Rakyat yesterday went for the jugular - asking the High Court to set aside results of all 222 parliamentary seats in GE13, disband the discredited Election Commission and order fresh polls.

This unprecedented move, probably the first in any Commonwealth country, was made necessary because of the allegedly 'indelible ink fiasco, massive cheating' and other factors that robbed them of their victory on May5 poll.

In their suit yesterday, they claimed  that some 30 parliamentary seats were lost by Pakatan Rakyat by fewer than 10 per cent of the votes.

They actually hoped for a fresh general election if they win the suit, and should they lose again, they will not concede defeat and will go to the court again, and again, and again! Sickening!
KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Rakyat filed a suit this morning against seven Election Commission (EC) officers including its vice chairman in an effort to revoke the 13th General Elction (GE13) result.
According to MP R Sivarasa, this was also due to the indelible ink fiasco in GE13 as well as EC members who were seen as bias.
"We want this issue to be taken seriously and for the EC to admit that they have failed in following the constitution, having bad intention and dishonest on the indelible ink during GE13.
"If the court agrees with us then the most logic solution for this is to repeal the result and we are asking the High Court to set aside results of all 222 parliamentary seats in GE13 as well," he added.
Meanwhile, Kota Bharu MP, Datuk Takiyudin Hassan explained that they are waiting for the court order to discredit the seven EC members.
It noted that some 30 parliamentary seats were lost by Pakatan Rakyat by fewer than 10 per cent of the votes.
"Therefore even if a small percentage of dishonest voters were able to wrongfully vote more than once because of the deliberate failure of the EC to implement indelible ink, they were sufficient to affect the results in a significant number of seats," said the opposition in a statement of claim.
The plaintiffs PKR, DAP and PAS also trained their guns on seven members of the EC. Each of them is being sued in their personal capacity and will have to pay exemplary damages if they lose.
In addition to the three Pakatan Rakyat political parties, other plaintiffs to this action are opposition candidates Dzulkefly Ahmad, M. Manogaran, Saifuddin Nasution, Arifin Rahman and R. Rajoo, who all lost by narrow margins.
Looks like we will have general election every year from now on...
