DAP Selangor Implodes : Delegates "Lazy"

Me and some other diabetics were sharing pints of Diet Coke late last nite.  We had just had dinner with the Bloggers and some other people. The conversation turned to the DAP's problems around the country, especially in Selangor where there is a huge amount of 'Chinese triad' type pent up anger waiting to explode inside the DAP.

The conversation turned to the recently held Selangor DAP Convention where Selangor DAP Assemblyman Teng Chang Khim (Sg Pinang?) who is also the Speaker of the State Assembly refused to attend.  This is bad news for the DAP.

Teng's enemy No. 1 in Selangor is Theresa Kok. However it is really a proxy war going on in the DAP between the Lim Guan Eng faction and those in the DAP who are opposed to Lim Guan Eng. This is serious trouble.

Then in this morning's Star, Jocelyn Tan had the following write up about DAP Selangor's infighting. Its all about Theresa Kok making big money in Selangor and her inability to dismiss doubts about her poor management and leadership skills.

  • only 311 or 27% showed up, minimum quorum 25% 
  • Theresa Kok attributing it to delegates being "lazy"
  • not a party ready for the mother of all battles. 
  • unhappiness if she deserves to be Selangor chairman.

  • 2010 state party election Teng 4th, Kok at 11th spot.
  • 11th position holding most lucrative posts in Selangor government.
  • multiple salaries she is earning from her multiple positions 
  • problems consolidating factions since becoming state chairman. 
  • does not have personality or skills to manage
  • limited leadership skills.
  • Kok sacked local leader in Selangor Tan Tuan Tat 
  • Ronnie Liu tai-kor or big brother in Selangor. 
  • Jenice Lee ousted as the Selangor DAPSY chief last Saturday.
Theresa Kok's explanation is simple : only 311 delegates or 27% turned up for the Selangor DAP Convention because the remaining 73% were lazy bums.  The DAP has become a party of lazy bums.

The Star also reports that Janice Lee the Selangor DAPSY Chief was kicked out from her position at the Selangor Convention.

  • Jenice Lee suffered a shock-ing defeat to unknown Chua Yew Choong.
  • Janice Lee also deputy national Dapsy chief 
  • Janice Lee's second major setback this year.
  • In August the local Rukun Tetangga described her as "arrogant".
  • humiliated when a referendum resulted in her not getting a single vote.
Folks say the DAP factions who are now fighting in Selangor are beyond tipping point.  The issues are about money and power, one obviously leading to the other.  Its like the Ghee Hin and the Hai San again.

Err..I think the DAP will soon be issuing a gag order to all party members not to talk about this break up in the party. Party members will also be advised NOT to read OutSyed The Box.
