Posted: 03 Jan 2013 02:00 AM PST Taksub refers to blindly following someone. Taklid is not too far behind. I only know a handful of Muslims who are NOT in this category. The vast majority are all the taksub types. This is also the takde-otak category. Here is some news from The Star :
What he is saying is that if you dont vote for him, you will go to hell. The tin sadin fellow is obviously appealing to the stupid people. Only those who are stupid, the lowly educated, the semi literate, those who believe in black magic, jampi serapah, poo kanan poo kiri, flying horses and stuff like that will think that voting for tin sadin will take them to heaven and not voting for tin sadin will take them to hell. This is definitely the takde-otak category. Unfortunately our Gomen education system is churning out hundreds of thousands of people in this category every year. Tin sadin is only too grateful to our education system which manufactures so many unthinking and gullible simpletons who will suck up every piece of garbage he throws out at them. Obviously tin sadin feels that he is closer to his version of god to the exclusion of others. Vote for him you go to heaven, vote for others you go to hell. This is exactly what some Jews said as well, as per the Quran. And the Quran has a simple solution for whoever thinks they are closer to their versions of god. Here it is : Surah 62:6 Say, "O you who are Jewish, if you claim that you are Allah's chosen, to the exclusion of all other people, then you should long for death if you are truthful!" It does not matter if its the Jews, the orang kafir, tin sadin or anyone at all who think they are closer to their version of gods to the exclusion of everyone else then the solution is simple - just drop dead and be on your way. This is a logical suggestion. Why waste time on the earth casting votes and aggravating yourself? Do the right thing - drop dead. Long for death. Be on your way. Here is something else about the majority view (vis a vis the Quran) Surah 6:116 "If you obey the majority of people on earth, they will divert you from the path of Allah. They follow only conjecture; they only guess" This is especially relevant for Muslims - if you stray from the Quran and follow the majority - simply because it is the majority view - you will get diverted from the right path. The so called majority opinions only follow conjecture, they only guess. |
Posted: 02 Jan 2013 11:18 PM PST I just saw Apanama's Blog that our National Warrior Datuk Kanang Anak Langkau has passed away this morning Jan 3rd, 2013. May his passing be easy on his family. The Wikipedia entry on Datuk Kanang has also been updated by someone just a few hours ago. I met Datuk Kanang Anak Langkau just once last year when he appeared at a forum at the University Malaya along with a few other old guards from the famous Malayan Emergency days. Datuk Kanang Anak Langkau was the only Malaysian to be awarded both the PGB (Panglima Gagah Berani) as well as the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa while still alive. He served in the Royal Ranger Regiment which has contributed its outstanding share of winners of the PGB as well as the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa (SPGP). The late Captain V. Mohana Chandran of the 4th Battalion Royal Rangers was posthumously awarded the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa again for action against the Communist terrorists in Perak. Here is a short history of the late Datuk Kanang. Kanang anak Langkau : PW 1 (Rtd) Temenggong Datuk Kanang anak Langkau, SP, PGB, PGBK (1945 - January 3, 2013) was a Malaysian hero and soldier from the Iban Dayak community in Sarawak. He was in the Royal Ranger Regiment and Regimental Sergeant Major of 8 Renjer (8th Rangers) of the Malaysian Army. He was awarded the Panglima Gagah Berani and Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa medals from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ahmad Shah on 3 June 1981. Kanang anak Langkau was born on 1945 in Julau, Sarawak. He joined the service with the Sarawak Rangers, then part of the British Army, as an Iban Tracker on 21 April 1962. He was absorbed into the Malaysian Rangers when Malaysia was proclaimed on 16 September 1963. He left the service after 21 years of service as a First Warrant Officer. Following the death of one soldier in the Tanah Hitam, Perak to communists on 8 February 1980, the Unit Combat Intelligence Platoon of 8th Battalion Royal Rangers under the leadership of Kanang anak Langkau was tasked to seek and destroy the group of communists. They tracked the enemy over 11 days on terrain familiar to the enemy. On the evening 19 February 1980 at around 1500 hours his platoon managed to estimate the location of the enemies, who were close by. Their initial estimate of the enemy's location proved incorrect when they found a communications cord connecting the sentry outpost to the main force and the platoon was well inside the enemy's perimeter. Cord such as this one is usually connected to a bush or empty cans so that a sentry could use it to alert the main guerilla force. They had unknowingly penetrated the enemy's perimeter. Kanang, 8 metres from the enemy sentry position, launched an attack to his right flank. It then became apparent from the enemy return fire that the main force was to the left. They assaulted the left and routed the enemy taking one casualty and killing five communists. One soldier was seriously wounded and Kanang himself took three rounds but survived. Later he returned to active duty. His bravery was shown during the battle, when he shouted the legendary Iban battle cry; Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban! which means "As long as I live, I shall fight!". This is also the Royal Ranger Regiment motto. On 24 September 2011, he was conferred the 'Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang' (PGBK) (English: Commander of the Order of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak), with the title of 'Datuk' by the Governor of Sarawak, in conjunction with Head of State 90th Birthday. On 3rd January 2013, Kanang Langkau collapsed while watching television at home in Sg Apong after complaining of chest pains. He was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at the age of 68. He was one of only a few number of people ever conferred the "Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa" and "Pingat Gagah Berani" whilst still alive. Here is a picture of Datuk Kanang Anak Langkau and me taken just last year : Other than Datuk Kanang Langkau there is another Sarawakian, Awang anak Raweng who was awarded the prestigious George Cross for gallantry by the British in 1951. "Awang anak Raweng GC, an Iban Scout from Sarawak in Borneo, won the George Cross for gallantry as recorded in the London Gazette on 20 November 1951. His citation concluded "So resolute was his demeanour that the bandits, who had maintained their attacks for some forty minutes, and who were now threatened by the other sections, withdrew. The coolness, fortitude and offensive spirit displayed by Awang anak Rawang were of the highest order. Despite being twice severely wounded he showed the utmost courage and resolution to continue the fight and protect the injured soldier." The following are the winners of the Panglima Gagah Berani (Pingat Gagah Berani). This is taken from the Wikipedia. If anyone has been left out, my sincere apologies. Not all the recipients of these awards are dead. Some are alive and well in the country. Recipients Panglima Gagah Berani 1 Warrant Officer 1 Kanang anak Langkau 2 Second Lieutenant David Fu Chee Ming 3 Major Ismail bin Salleh 4 Second Lieutenant Baharin bin Abd Jalil 5 Ranger Lan Anak Gima 6 Private Ielias Ibrahim The Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa The Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa ('Gallant Warrior" or Warrior of Extreme Valour) (S.P) is the highest federal award which can be presented in Malaysia. It was created on 29 July 1960 and was gazetted on 11 August 1969. It is the highest award in the Malaysian Federal Awards therefore outranking the awards which carry the title of Datuk, Tan Sri, or Tun. The award is the highest ranking in the list of the Malaysian Federal Ranking of Awards, and is ranked higher than the Darjah Kerabat Diraja Malaysia (D.K.M.) awarded to Malaysian Royalty. The following are the recipients of the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa:
The highest sacrifice is to pay with your life for your country. I hope all the sacrifices by these heroes to defend the country under arms will never go to waste. |
Posted: 02 Jan 2013 07:12 PM PST Here are some interesting pictures of historical religious sites from the ancient Persian empires. These ancient sites (there are quite a few of them) are found in Iran (Persian Empire) as well as throughout Central Asia and going into the Caucasus (Samarkand, Bokhara, Chechnya (Vainakhs). The first two pictures here show what is known as the Ka'ba Zartosht. "The Ka'ba-ye Zartosht (alt: Kaba-ye Zardusht, Kaba-ye Zardosht, Persian: کعبه زرتشت), meaning the "Cube of Zoroaster," is a 5th century B.C.E. Achaemenid-era tower-like construction at Naqsh-e Rustam, an archaeological site just northwest of Persepolis, Iran. This enigmatic structure is one of many surviving examples of the achaemenid architectural design." In Persian, Ka'ba meant a cube, from which the English word 'cube' is also derived. The picture below here is the Tomb of Cyrus The Great, the Persian Emperor who was also a Zoroastrian. Cyrus' Tomb has also become a sacred site where Zoroastrians still go to pray. Look at the pictures below. People praying at the Tomb of Cyrus The Great. |
Posted: 02 Jan 2013 05:00 AM PST (This is taken from a news article. There is a short video at the end of this). A new documentary claims the Nazi leader did not commit suicide in his bunker towards the end of WWII. Hitler's last days were not spent in his Berlin bunker, but in tranquil luxury in an Argentine hotel – at least, that's the story that director/ producer Noam Shalev and researcher Pablo Weschler are trying to prove in their upcoming documentary, Revealed: Hitler in Argentina, set for release next year. "We will never know the truth," Shalev cautions. "But there is enough evidence to build an alternative theory about what happened to Hitler." "No one believed the Russians' story of Hitler's suicide in the bunker," says Weschler. "As early as the summer of 1945, there were headlines asking, 'Where is Hitler?' all over the world." One difficulty in confirming the basic facts of Hitler's suicide with his wife, Eva Braun, in the final days of the Allies' approach to Berlin, was that the Russian troops did not give access to many forensic investigators. Shalev and Weschler believe that British intelligence officer and historian Hugh Trevor-Roper's investigation was rushed and "unprofessional." But what inspired them to begin making their film about the evidence they believe leads to proof of Hitler's secret flight to Argentina were recently declassified FBI documents. "In those days, the FBI, not the CIA, was responsible for South America," explains Weschler. "And in declassified documents, we see that the FBI took very seriously the possibility that Hitler fled to Argentina." The FBI set up a special unit to investigate this possibility. Shalev and Weschler are convinced they have gathered significant evidence that pinpoints Hitler's whereabouts during the years following World War II. Inspired by the book Hitler's Escape by Italian journalist Patrick Burnside, they have done their own research as well. "When Burnside published his book, in 1998, he got thousands of e-mails from people coming forward with information," says Shalev. "Some of them were crazy, of course, but he had enough information to do more research and write another book." The manuscript of that book, which will be published next year, was a useful guide for Shalev and Weschler, and led them to a famous hotel. "The Eden Hotel in La Falda, Cordoba [in Argentina] was owned by Ida and Walter Eichhorn, who were close friends of Hitler," explains Weschler. "Hitler sent them a Mercedes Benz as a gift. It was the first Benz in Argentina." The once-opulent hotel, now in ruins, was the site of lavish parties, and a host of notables, including Albert Einstein, stayed there in the Twenties and Thirties. The Eichhorns were very vocal in their support for the Nazi party, and made financial contributions. They also broadcast speeches Hitler's, whenever he spoke on the radio, throughout the hotel. Citing a September 1945 letter from the FBI (one of the documents declassified in the Nineties), Weschler points to the lines that show that the FBI believed that if Hitler got into trouble, he could always find a safe haven with the Eichhorns if he could manage to get there. Weschler found former employees of the hotel who say they met and waited on Hitler after the war there. "It was easy for them to recognize him, because his picture was all over the hotel," says Weschler. He says that his research shows that Hitler moved on from the hotel to an isolated rural estate in Argentina, where he lived out his days with Braun and their two daughters, and that he died in the mid-Sixties. Particularly persuasive evidence, according to Weschler, is DNA testing done in 2009 on Hitler's skull fragments that were recovered from the bunker. "They showed that they couldn't have been Hitler's skull because they were from a woman under 40," says Weschler, a finding that was reported in the mainstream press. "DNA doesn't lie," he says. "The more you look into it, the less credible the official version becomes, and the more plausible an alternative theory seems." Here is a Youtube video that tells this story. My question is : If Hitler lived and died in Argentina in 1965, who shot John F Kennedy? Could Osama bin Laden crash two airplanes into the WTC in New York? Was it Osama who was shot and killed by the Navy SEALS last year? They never showed his face. |
