Posted: 15 Sep 2013 10:37 AM PDT Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore joined Malaya on this day in 1963 to form Malaysia. Although Singapore was booted from the Federation two years later, the Borneo states and its people had shown their loyalty to the pact. And today, Sabah and Sarawak are prospering under their respective government, with Putrajaya extending a big hand to ensure that they too develop accordingly. Whether they are Iban, Bajau, Bidayuh, Murut, Kadazan or Kelabit, they have 'bridged' the South China Sea in order to foster better relationship and cooperation with the Peninsula, and telling the world that Malaysia no more comprises of West and East. Its 1Malaysia now. HAPPY MALAYSIA DAY! |
