| Mat Sabu And The Rise Of The Shiah In PAS Posted: 31 Dec 2012 08:36 PM PST There has been considerable talk in the Malay press and Malay blogs about Mat Sabu the deputy president of PAS being a Shiah. (You can Yahoo or Google 'Mat Sabu Syiah' and read the numerous websites). Prior to that there has always been talk that PAS has long been 'infiltrated' by many Malay Syiahs. Recently some Bloggers met with CN Afghani (Cikgu Non), the former life member of PAS who was kicked out by the party when he made a Police Report against them for malpractises in the usage of millions of Ringgits of donations collected for the Tabung Memali. CN Afghani was also the PAS guy who planned to assassinate Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed in 1988. You can read my recent Blog : The Assasination Attempt Against Dr Mahathir Mohamed. Afghani also spoke about the Shiah influence in PAS. According to him PAS is strongly influenced by Shiah especially PAS in Johor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. He also said that Mat Sabu showed strong Shiah tendencies. Last year (2012) Mat Sabu caused some uproar among PAS members (particularly the Haji Hadi faction) when he visited Syria's Bashar Assad regime as a show of support. Mat Sabu's visit was televised on Syrian Television where Mat Sabu condemned the Saudi Arabian government for not allowing Syrian pilgrims to visit Mecca. Birds of a feather do flock together.  Mat Sabu's visit to Syria has not gone unnoticed. Some say that the Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan Muslimin) the anti-Shia fanatics who now control Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Gaza and are fighting Bashar Assad in Syria have sent a delegation to meet Hadi Awang of PAS to protest Mat Sabu's visit to Syria. Here is a report : "Kes Mat Sabu Sokong Rejim Assad Syria – Ikhwanul Muslimin Beri Ultimatum Kepada Hadi November 8, 2012 Dek kerana keangkuhan Mat Sabu mencabar sensitiviti umat Islam terutama para pejuang yang menentang rejim Bashar Assad dengan melakukan kunjungan hormat berjumpa dengan menteri kanan pemerintahan kuku besi Damsyik, Ikhwanul Muslimin telah memberi kata putus kepada PAS. Dalam satu pertemuan khas baru-baru ini, wakil Ikwanul Muslimin Syria datang khas ke Tanah Air kita untuk bertemu dengan Presiden PAS, Haji Hadi Awang. Kedatangan mereka adalah semata-mata untuk menegur serta memberi ultimatum kepada pimpinan PAS agar menjaga sensitiviti mereka, para pejuang di Syria dan seluruh umat Islam. Ultimatum ini diberi setelah tersebarnya rakaman video siaran TV Syria berhubung kunjungan hormat Mat Sabu tersebut. Ultimatumnya bernada keras sekali. Jika PAS tidak sensitif dengan perjuangan Ikhwanul Muslimin Syria dan terus memberi sokongan moral kepada rejim Assad, maka pertemuan itu adalah yang terakhir dan hubungan Ikhwan dengan PAS akan diputuskan." There is also an interview with Harakah (the PAS party organ) asking Mat Sabu about his Shiah leanings. Mat Sabu gives a slippery reply which only seems to confirm that he is a Shiah. In his twisting answer Mat Sabu refers to seven 'Shiah' leaders, countries and organisations whom he admires. I have highlighted them in red. Folks, Iran, Hizbullah, Imam Khomeini, Hassan Nasrullah, Dr Kalim Sidiqui, Dr Ali Shariati and Jamaluddin Afghani were/are Shiah or pro-Shiah. Mat Sabu says he does not know the mazhab of Dr Ali Shariati. This is a joke. Everyone knows Dr Ali Shariati was the Shiah idealogue behind the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Kalim Siddiqui (of Indian origins) is said to have publicly declared his support for the Iranian Revolution of 1979, and was later a defender of Ayatullah Khomeini's fatwa against Salman Rushdie. Mat Sabu says these are his pejuang-pejuang - "Inilah sikap saya dalam hal merujuk kepada pejuang-pejuang.." Ok Mat ini semua pejuang hero hang. Tapi pasai apa hang pi pilih ramai sekali pejuang syiah non? What does this all mean? The Shiahs in Malaysia are persecuted and prosecuted by the various Mahkamah Syariah. I think this is a totally stupid thing to do. This is evidence enough that even in the 21st century our religious thinking is still inside the Stone Age of the semi-civilised cave man. You dont talk like me, you dont think like me, you dont worship like me then I will throw you in jail. Facing this type of religious persecution the Shiahs have become quite clever (and sneaky). They are infiltrating PAS. And now Mat Sabu has become deputy president. If Hadi retires and Sabu becomes president, we can have a pro-Shiah Prime Minister in Malaysia. Better watch out. My view is there may also be Shiahs in UMNO. However the Shiah influence in PAS appears to be stronger, more in number and better organised. I am certain that the Shiahs in PAS must have links to the Iranians as well. It is possible that there will someday be splits in PAS because the majority of PAS is still Sunni. The Ikhwan Muslimin (Muslim Brotherhood) which is causing so much chaos in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Gaza, Sudan and elsewhere does have its strong supporters inside PAS. Haji Hadi is said to be a blue eyed boy of the Ikhwan Muslimin. It is very likely that the growing fight between the Ikhwan Muslimin and the Shiah in the Middle East will have its spill over effects in the PAS as well. I will not be surprised at all. It is bound to happen. They will fight over 'my imaginary pet unicorn is better than your pet imaginary unicorn'. |
