Lim Guan Eng won the game with his DAP team, leaving Penang BN Youth in despair. The impact will be much felt by the lower income group who was hoping for a PPRT project be build on that piece of priceless land. Their hope dashed! GEORGE TOWN: The DAP-led state government has decided to cancel the offer to sell the controversial Taman Manggis land to Barisan Nasional but the latter is not surprised. Its Youth wing head Oh Tong Keong said the move was anticipated, as the land was allegedly sold to a private firm Kuala Lumpur International Dental Centre Sdn Bhd. "Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is just dragging the issue," he said. "I am kek sim (heartbroken), as we want to build PPR (people's housing programme) flats for the poor but the state wants to continue playing politics," he said. The state government had issued a statement claiming that Penang Barisan was "insincere" in buying the land. "It is the lack of genuine commitment from Barisan and its chief Teng Chang Yeow has seen the rejection of its (Penang Barisan) offer to buy the land at over RM22.4mil (S$8.9mil). There is no genuine commitment by Penang Barisan to build low-cost homes," Lim claimed. So, what's next? Will BN take it to the court? Guan Eng is a Penang 'king'. Like the Malay Sultans who holds the rights on the administration of their State lands, the chief minister too wants to become one. What a Dear Leader he is! He must be all proud to have denied the poor of getting a house to stay...
