New Claims Surface About Anwar's Saudi Connections
Some time ago, we mentioned a new blog that we'd discovered, the "I" Files. It purports to be the untold story of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, recounted through the eyes and records of mat salleh foreigners living here -- Brits, Americans, and others, some of them corporate and others with intelligence services. We found it an interesting read when we first happened on it, but did not know where it was going.

The Need for Separating Civil Society and Political Parties

In the intense politicisation leading up to GE13, it is rare to find an objective voice that speaks to us as a nation, instead of belonging to this or that party.

Facebook IPO is Opportunity for Affluent Malaysians

Facebook, the website that put social media on the map, will start trading as soon as May 18 on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. The company's initial public offering (IPO) is set between RM76 to RM106 a share, placing the valuation of the company between RM226-RM289 billion.
At the high end, Facebook could raise as much as RM41 billion -- far more than the RM5.8 billion raised in the 2004 offering for current Internet IPO record-holder Google. That IPO valued the company at RM70 billion, and Google is now worth about RM610 billion.

Positive Reactions from Businesses to Minimum Wage News

Even before the historic announcement of a guaranteed minimum wage for Malaysians in the private sector, staff at Century Logistics Holdings Berhad were well rewarded by their employers who, rightly, called them the company's most important asset.
The majority of the 628 staff here took home a monthly salary of more than the RM900 that has been stipulated as the new minimum income for Malaysians in Peninsular Malaysia.
Even the drivers, who took home a lower basic pay packet of RM450 per month, were able to increase the total to between RM2,500 and RM3,000 through allowances and performance-based incentives.
