| Posted: 16 Mar 2013 09:33 PM PDT No reason for the Sabah RCI to take a 'break' until general election is over. I believe the process must continue irrespective of when the national poll is set or who would form the next government. And now that the opposition is politicising it - even linking it to the Suluks intrusion in Lahad Datu - we better get cracking and finish what we have started. Find a solution to the 'problems'. One can't put the blame on the government as the directive was clear on the issuance of ICs. However, some irresponsible people involved with implementing the directive had made it looked so ugly. Whether the exercise started 10, 20 or 30 years ago, the ruling government 'didn't break any rule' as only those qualified were given the IC. Former PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad also said his government cannot be blamed because the directive was very, very clear - only the qualified ones should be considered. |
