KPN Arah Penganjur Patuhi Akta Perhimpunan Aman

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 04:09 AM PST

Pihak penganjur diwakili Timbalan Presiden Pas Mohamad Sabu; Naib Presiden Parti Keadilan Rakyat, N. Surendran; Ahli Parlimen Batu, Tian Chua; Setiausaha Agong Pas Datuk Mustafa Ali; Ketua Dewan Muslimat Pas Pusat Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff dan Aktivis Hak Asasi Manusia, Maria Chin Abdullah.

LIMA 2013 Buka Peluang Perniagaan Serantau

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 04:07 AM PST

Anggota Dewan Undangan Negeri Slim River, Perak selaku Ahli Turut Hadir Jawatankuasa Pendukung Askar Wataniah Negeri Perak, Datuk Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib pula ditauliahkan pangkat Leftenan Kolonel Kehormat.

Kementerian Minta Papa Kemuka Kos Pengambilan Amah Indonesia

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 04:06 AM PST

Cuepacs Sasar 80 Peratus Anggota Daftar Skuad Pengguna

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 04:03 AM PST

No Political Tsunami Or Earthquake In Sabah In Next General Election, Says Salleh

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 03:50 AM PST

KOTA BELUD, Jan 8  - Sabah UMNO Liaison deputy chief Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak has brushed aside the opposition’s claim that there will be a political tsunami or earthquake in Sabah, saying the Barisan Nasional (BN) is on the right track to winning the next general election.

Describing the claim as fanciful and exaggerated, he said it was only intended to boost the opposition’s political clout and shore up support for it in the state regarded as a stronghold of the ruling BN.

“No doubt, the Barisan Nasional may probably face a tough challenge, especially in the urban or suburban areas, but the majority of the people of Sabah still favour the BN to govern the state and the country.

“Surely, there will be no political tsunami or earthquake in Sabah. This is merely a political propaganda to create doubt or confusion among the electorate. The truth is the BN remains strong and intact,” he told reporters after meeting local grassroots leaders, here, today.

Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was quoted as saying in Sabah recently that there would be a shock uprising of the Sabah people in the next general election.

Salleh, who is the Sabah Legislative Assembly Speaker, expressed confidence that that BN would emerge victorious in the next general election.

He called on the people not to be swayed by the opposition propaganda and instead continue to support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s numerous transformation programmes for the good of their future.

“I believe that what happened in the peninsula in the 2008 general election will not happen in Sabah. In fact, the political landscape in the country has changed markedly in the last four years under the premiership of Najib.

“Apparently, Najib has changed the fortune of the ruling BN for the better. Najib, who adopted a people-friendly approach in tackling the various problems, is well-liked by the people. He is prepared to listen to the woes or grouses of the people and is willing to go down to look at the condition on the ground,” he said.

Salleh said this was certainly a plus point for the BN in championing the cause of the people.

Selangor Sultan Regrets Guan Eng’s Stance On Use Of Word “Allah” In Bible

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 03:46 AM PST

SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah today expressed dismay and regret over DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng asking the government to allow the use of the word “Allah” in the Malay language version of the Bible.

Secretary of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais), Datuk Mohd Misri Idris in a statement, here, today said following Lim’s call, the Sultan had called for a special meeting with Mais members, the state mufti and officials from Mais and Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) on Jan 6.

“His Majesty then decided and decreed that the word ‘Allah’, which is a sacred word for Muslims, cannot at all be used in Selangor by any non-Islamic religion as stipulated in the fatwa (edict) and gazetted on Feb 18, 2010.

“In fact, the Sultan had issued a similar order on the use of the word ‘Allah’ three years ago when the issue was raised for the first time. But, tuanku (Sultan) regrets that his command has been taken lightly by certain quarters that the issue is again raised,” Mohd Misri said.

Recently, Guan Eng was reported to have raised the issue again through his blogsite, urging the federal government to allow Christians in the peninsula to use the word “Allah” in the Bahasa Melayu version of the Bible.

Mohd Misri said, following Lim’s statement, the Selangor Sultan ordered Mais and Jais to take stern action against any quarters, whether they were non-Muslims or even Muslims who still questioned or belittle the fatwa that was issued according to the existing law in Selangor.

He said in Selangor, the Non-Islamic Religions Enactment (Control of Propagation Among Non-Muslims) 1988 was passed by the State Legislative Assembly in April 1988 and enforced from July, the same year which included control over the use of the word “Allah”, in line with Article 11 (4) of the Federal Constitution.

“Section 9 of the Enactment clearly prohibits the use of the word ‘Allah’ by non-Muslims in whatever matter related to their own religion and there could be prosecution and penalty for those who violate this legal provision,” he said.

Mohd Misri said the Selangor Sultan also ordered that non-Muslims not to interfere in Islamic religious matters to avoid racial misunderstanding and animosity in this country.

He said the Sultan also decreed that all quarters were forbidden from using Islam as their political capital as the action could disrupt unity in this multiracial country.

For more information on the fatwa and legal provision on the use of the word “Allah” in Selangor, the public can visit the Mais website at www.mais.gov.my.

Proton Confident Lotus Turnaround Plan Will Be Completed In 2 Years

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 03:43 AM PST

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 – Proton Holdings Bhd is optimistic the turnaround plan for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Lotus Group Plc, could be completed in the next two years.

Executive Chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Khamil Jamil said the optimism is based on increasing demand for sports cars globally and the new management under  DRB-HICOM Bhd.

Proton is a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM.

“This is something which has involved a long period of time. To change something that has been there for 16 years is not easy but insya Allah (God willing), the management team is very innovative and forthcoming.

“We know there is competition in the market. However, with our quality and standard enhancements of the Lotus, we are confident that we could compete in the market,” he told reporters after the launch of Lotus’ flagship showroom and its Exige S and Elise S models in Malaysia.

Former Prime Minister and Proton Advisor Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who was also present, said the local market environment for Lotus has changed.

“Lotus has a good name, unfortunately, for the past 16 years, people did not engage hand-in-hand with this brand.

“Back then, there was no market for Lotus in Malaysia but today there has been a lot interest shown on these Lotus cars and we believe that we can sell quite a big number of Lotus in Malaysia itself,” he said.

Dr Mahathir said there is definitely a demand for Lotus cars abroad, but Lotus is just taking a little more time to ensure that its cars are in the best quality possible to be marketed.

Meanwhile, Khamil said Lotus has received 20 orders for the cars in the local market and has delivered 12 cars as of today.

“We are looking at yearly sales of between 100 to 200 units of Lotus cars upon Lotus’ entry into Malaysia.

“Globally, we are looking at sales of between 3,000 to 4,000 units in the financial year ending March 2015. The biggest markets for Lotus would be China, Japan and the US,” he added.

The RM7 million showroom, covering approximately 1,060 sq. m., consists of sale areas for new and pre-owned Lotus cars, and will be used as a Lotus regional centre, especially as a 3S (sales, service, spare parts) centre.

The newly launched Exige S and Elise S are already making waves globally, with the Exige S recently awarded the coveted Car of The Year title by EVO magazine.

The Exige S comes in two variants — the roadster (RM452,030 retail) and coupe (RM467,230 retail — while the Elise S retails from RM332,300.

The prices exclude insurance, road tax, registration fee, inspection fee, number plate, other registration and miscellaneous charges.

City Traders Appeal To Opposition To Cancel Rally

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 03:39 AM PST

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8 – The traders in the vicinity of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) and Masjid India are appealing to the opposition to ‘please cancel’ their proposed rally in the city.

The traders interviewed by Bernama said the gathering would have a big negative impact on business and not benefit anyone if it was held, adding they were afraid about experiencing losses again as in the Bersih gathering held previously.

Charanjit Kaur, 49, a supervisor at the Gulatis Silk Store in Jalan TAR said the gathering would jeorpadise their business, especially with the impending Chinese New Year and Thaipusam soon.

“There will be less customers, maybe even none if the gathering is held. Staff will be afraid to come to work as well. And we’ll have problems when the rally participants hide in the shop when there’s trouble outside,” she told Bernama here today.

Sharing the same fears, Khirul Hisham Mohd Daud, 32, who works in CK Rahim a brooch shop, said such gatherings would have negative consequences as they were usually accompanied by riots and fights.

“The participants are usually aggressive. But we’re the ones to bear the consequences when we have to close our shops to prevent damage and injuries,” he said.

Old Town White Coffee, Jalan Raja Laut, restaurant supervisor Maizurah Abd Ralim, 36, urged the organisers to consider the businesses which would be affected and hoped the rally would be cancelled.

“We have been ordered to open as usual but really hope the organisers will cancel the rally.

“During the previous gathering, participants rushed into the restaurants when there were riots outside. This jeopardised our customers’ safety,” she said.

Perhaps the most affected would be the night market traders at Jalan TAR, who conducted their business once a week, and hence would incur big losses if they were forced to close their stalls.

Mobile phone accessories trader, Shafreayie Abd Rahman, 24, said if the gathering was held he would definitely close his stall as he could not afford the bigger risk of damaged goods or personal injury.

Clothing merchant, Edwan Abdul Aziz, 41, said the rally would only bring a hundred percent harm to the traders, community and nation.

“There’s nothing to be gained from such a rally. It’s bad enough we don’t earn much once a week, but now may have to close if it’s held,” he said.

Opposition coalition, Pakatan Rakyat, is planning to hold a massive rally in the city to voice their demands on certain matters leading up to the impending 13th General Elections.

20 Dalil Jadi Agenda Utama Gerakan ‘Jom Tolak Pakatan’ Di Selangor

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 03:33 AM PST

Pas Usah Tutup Mulut Atas Tuduhan Makan Harta Anak Yatim

Posted: 08 Jan 2013 03:25 AM PST

-MediaUMNO
