Posted: 09 Sep 2013 06:36 AM PDT PKR accused Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi of seeking 'cheap publicity' in his bid to defend his Umno vice-presidency seat. What a CHEAP way for the opposition party to hit out at the minister and in fact, PKR which is embroiled in its domestic tug-of-war is getting immobilised! PKR vice-president N Surendran, who made the accusation, is himself a cheapskate for politicising immigration crackdown on illegal immigrants as a platform to get public sympathy for the foreigners. He even seconded allegation by human right groups that the operation also nabbed asylum seekers and those with valid documents. Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today blasted PKR for suggesting that the crackdown on secret societies was a stunt to boost his credentials ahead of the Umno party election.I suggest Surendran take part in Immigration Dept crackdown as to get a better and clearer picture of it, rather than sitting on the sideline and making unfounded accusation. Zahid is a man who needs no pat on the back for expediting his duty, unlike Surendran's big boss Anwar Ibrahim who goes around boasting about his 'this and that' plans. Without such publicity, Zahid is able to make it because Umno members recognise and appreciate what he is doing. So, the publicity issue doesn't rise at all. Surendran should go back to school and learn what publicity is all about, making public relations as his major. Stop talking if you know nothing! |
