Bersih could dirty GE13

Posted: 03 Apr 2013 10:18 AM PDT

The only thing that could disrupt a clean and fair general elections is Bersih. While both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat have pledged a condusive ambience during campaign and polling, Ambiga remains unconvinced.

She never trusted the electoral reform, neither did she recognise effort taken by the Election Commission to clean up the rolls.

The Election Commission is still her 'enemy' and it will remain that way until she is fully satisfied when all her demands are fulfilled.

But she never answered this common question - which country she thinks is free from election fraud, dirty money being used to buy votes and voters were moved from one place to another? Did she answer Singapore and the United States? She must be blind!

So, what is Ambiga's plan?

Will she organise another rally should Bersih detects irregularities during campaigning and polling? Or will she just find fault in Barisan Nasional camp since she only supports Anwar Ibrahim, hoping  for a Cabinet post if Pakatan forms the next Federal government?

And what kind of action will Bersih undertake if more troubles come from Pakatan Rakyat than BN? No action, I guess but it would be 'wise' for Bersih to blame it on BN.

Another thing. Where is Ambiga contesting? Rumors are rife that she will don Pakatan colors and contest a Parliament seat. Good for her also as it will put her on display for the rakyat to see and evaluate.

Anwar tries to be another 'Mr Nice Guy'

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, in his media statement on the 13th general election, calls for BN leader Najib Tun Razak to enter a debate with him, which I think is unnecessary, inappropriate and 'a waste of time'.

Both parties - BN and Pakatan Rakyat - should instead focus on their respective agenda, candidates and campaign.

Most important is for Anwar to ensure that his followers will keep up to Pakatan's 'Adil, Bersih dan Aman' general election slogan because there are already signs for another 'Bersih' demonstration planned during the campaigning period.

ANWAR IBRAHIM
Anwar was just trying to be another 'Mr Nice Guy'!

The 'clean' record, for Anwar's knowledge, is more for Najib's BN when it comes to ethical election campaign. After eight by-elections, more police reports were made against Pakatan Rakyat supporters for their notorious and unfriendly act.

I have covered seven general elections and more than 40 by-elections. Those with me will agree that BN supporters were more disciplined as compared to the opposition. I hope my eight general election will not be marred by any untoward incident.

The only thing that worries me is the excitement and frustration - of the winner and loser!

Ooppsss... by the way, who was once our 'Mr Nice Guy'?
