| Turkey: Fatwa Allows Sunni Muslims To Pray Just Three Times A Day Posted: 18 Jun 2012 11:56 PM PDT Ankara, 10 Oct. (AKI) - Turkish Muslims will be allowed to pray only three times a day from Wednesday instead of the usual five - without fear of committing a sin. A member of the scientific council of Istanbul University, Muhammad Nour Dughan, has issued a controversial fatwa or religious edict cutting Islamic prayer requirements from five to three times a day. The move has provoked widespread debate as well as opposition from orthodox imams or Muslim clerics. Sharia law allows for the possibility of praying three times a day in case of sickness or travel. The fatwa extends this option allowing Muslims to pray three times a day, especially when they are heavily committed with work or personal issues. The Turkish debate echoes a similar one that has already taken place in Egypt where the fatwa has also drawn support. Jamal al-Banna, brother of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hasan al-Banna, endorsed the Turkish move. "Merging prayers has become a modern necessity," he told the al-Arabiya website. "In most cases, people do not always perform the five prayers on time due to the pressures of modern life." Al-Banna is often criticised for his modern interpretation of Islamic rules. He said the Prophet Mohammad himself had given followers this option that could be applied when prayers cannot be carried out in a given time. A member of Egypt's Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Youssef al-Badri, rejected the argument saying it was unacceptable to merge prayers unless it was due to travel, illness, rain or pilgrimage. My comments : What do I learn from this? I have learnt that Sir Isaac Newton was not the only person who scientifically observed the fact that "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" (Isaac Newton's 3rd Law of Motion). Even among the religious people, for every fatwa, there will be an equal and opposite fatwa. This is the essential nature of religion. That is why religion causes so much confusion all around the world. One serban selekeh says like this, then another serban selekeh says like that. Semuanya berbeza-beza dan semua nya bercanggah. And how do the serban selekeh resolve their differences ? Very simple. "Dia sesat, awak sesat, kamu sesat, mereka sesat". Everybode else is sesat (except them). Jangan marah saya ok. Ini bukan saya yang cakap. Ini fatwa daripada ahli agama Turki - yang menjadi ahli Organisation of Islamic Countries atau OIC (di sebut "Oh I See") di mana negara kita pun menjadi ahli juga. Mengikut berita di atas fatwa ini juga dipersetujui oleh Jamal Al Banna - seorang Arab yang pandai berbahasa Arab dan adik kepada Hasan Al Banna pengasas Ikhwanul Muslimin di Mesir. Saya jumpa berita ini dalam Internet yang dibawa masuk ke dalam negara kita oleh Kerajaan kita juga. Jadi jangan marah saya ok. Tapi saya memang tidak setuju fatwa Pak Arab ini - atau sebarang fatwa mereka yang lain.  |

Congratulations to the Temuan and Tok Batin Malam Gerchang. This is another case of Pakatan Rakyat bullshit. At the end of the day they even sapu the Orang Asli land. Orang Asli land has been acquired before but adequate compensation has to be paid, same with everyone else. In 1999 Wan Azizah visited an Orang Asli settlement for the first and last time, kononnya to fight for Orang Asli rights. Can anyone recall which Orang Asli settlement I am referring to? Its the Orang Asli settlement in Pertak near Kuala Kubu Baru. A dam was being built there. The Orang Asli had all been moved to a brand new village with proper houses, sewerage, piped water and electricity. They were just beginning to like Astro. Wan Azizah went there to tell the Orang Asli how her husband had been given a black eye. She has not been back to Pertak since. Now she is grabbing Orang Asli land in Tanjong Dua Belas pula. Depa dah biasa sangat dengan luar tabii ini.  |

The word 'science' comes from the Latin word 'scientia' which means knowledge. Hence 'scientists' are the 'people of knowledge' ie the people who study nature, water, mountain rocks, birds, animals, plants, minerals and such - which the young man is also talking about in the video. In the Quran, science or knowledge is called 'ilmu'. A knowledgeable person or scientist is called an aalim (singular). In the Quran the plural form of 'aalim' is 'ulama'. In the Quran, the word 'ulama' refers to people who study water, fruits of various colors, mountains of different colors, birds, people, animals, and livestock. In other words scientists. I will show you the verses shortly. First the video. Now here are those verses from the Quran : Surah 35 : 27 - 28 "Do you not realize that Allah sends down from the sky water, whereby we produce fruits of various colors? Even the mountains have different colors; the peaks are white or red or some other color. And the crows are black. Also, the people, the animals and the livestock come in various colors. This is why the people who truly reverence Allah are those who are scientists (ulama). Allah is Almighty, Forgiving." 2. Now folks this second video is about getting ulcers. My comments : The guy mentions "syair Imam Syafiee"? About the poets or penyair the Quran says : "Wal syu'araa'u yat-tabi'uhumu al-ghaawoona " - Surah Al Syu'ara (Penyair) : 224 maksudnya : "Dan ahli-ahli syair itu diturut oleh golongan yang sesat (Surah 26:224). This is what the Quran says. I did not say it. Jangan marah saya ok.  |
