You dont need to go to secondary school to know this type of financing. All you need to know is how to take the taxi and go to that black coloured MOF building in Putrajaya and tell the MOF "Gimme your wallet". (Warna hitam is bad feng shui lah, the building looks like a morgue, macam rumah mayat Dracula. Bagi lah kontrak kat Ketua Bahagian Putrajaya to change the colour of that building. Busuk2 RM50.0 juta punya kontrak. Boleh beli lembu, shopping kat London, karaoke sampai pukul tujuh belas pagi). Folks can I make a suggestion about the Gomen issuing guarantees? These silly things are going to happen again and again.
Here is my suggestion. No need for the Gomen to give any more guarantees for the GLCs lah. As long as the GLCs are borrowing Ringgit from Malaysian funders, then instead of Gomen Guarantee, the Gomen gives an "undertaking only" that the Gomen (via MOF Incorporated or whatever MOF mechanism) shall i. remain the owner, main shareholder, controlling authority, Golden Share holder etc of the GLC (Khazanah, MAS, etc) that wants to borrow money ii. remain the owner, main shareholder, controlling authority, Golden Share holder of Tabung Haji, EPF, KWAP, etc. that wants to lend money Its just left pocket masuk right pocket lah. It is still an indirect Gomen Guarantee lah. Lebih kurang sama BUT without affecting the Gomen's Balance Sheet. What this will do is it will reduce the Gomen's liabilities on the Gomen's Balance Sheet (if the Gomen has one). The Gomen's international ratings by the "oops we missed the subprime toxic assets" rating agencies like Moodys and S&P should improve. The news is one of the GLC cartoon characters Danny Yusuf is being kicked out as Deputy CEO of MAS. Being let go, being asked to leave, being 'contract not renewed' - whatever you want to call it, but this dud is gone, effective yesterday. However he will remain a Board member of MAS until the end of the month. Pasal apa pula? Ada Queens Park Rangers game kat London ke? Talk under my pokok asam is that Danny can be appointed the Governor of Bank Negara. Why? Because he has achieved all his KPIs mah. That is why. Dont you know, all the GLC bosses have been consistently achieving all their KPIs since Slumberjack appointed that dunggu Minister to be in charge of all these GLC dunggus. You lose billions of Ringgit, you can become Minister. You lose hundreds of millions of Ringgit you can become GLC CEO. Year in and year out, all the GLC CEOs achieve their KPIs. Without fail. Warren Buffet pun kalah. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Robert Kuok, Ananda Krishnan semua kalah. But these clowns all achieve their KPIs. And they get appointed to even higher positions. So dont be surprised if Danny Yusuf becomes Governor of Bank Negara. Can lose billions again. Now here is today's real story. It is from YB Wee Choo Keong's Blog here : Tan Sri Azman & Rashdan must reveal the consultancy fees paid for WAU YB Wee Choo Keong wants Azman Mokhtar (the MD of Khazanah Nasional) and his sidekick Danny Yusuf to reveal to : "Parliament what was the actually consultancy fees that BinaFikir Sdn Bhd (BinaFikir) charged MAS for the WAU Project in 2002/2003. .." This cannot be a state secret nor is there confidentiality when tax payers money is involved. Even defense deals have been made known in Parliament and scrutinised by the public. So why is the Gomen protecting Azman Mokhtar and Danny Yusf from revealing how many millions were paid to them through BinaFikir? Binafikir has an interesting history. The company was set up by Azman Mokhtar and Danny Yusuf. During Slumberjack they were the 'con-sultans' to the Gomen who ciplak the WAU idea for MAS, who wrote the KPI crap. Then some very strange things happened. First BinaFikir was sold to Aseambankers for RM8.0 million. Azman Mokhtar and Danny Yusuf made some big bucks from that sale. A con-sultancy that was incorporated in 2002 was soon sold for RM8.0 million. Banyak cantik. YB Wee Continues : "WAU did not help MAS at all. It was just a temporary measure that has caused MAS more problems now. It was all about the selling of the existing assets of MAS to generate fund for MAS. It was more of an asset stripping exercise to raise fund as a temporarily solution. Under WAU, MAS disposed of all its aircraft to Penerbangan Malaysia Bhd (PMB), MAS Komplek consisting of 52 buildings in KLIA and 70% of MAS Catering Sdn Bhd to Gubahan Saujana Sdn Bhd (Gubahan), which was controlled by the brother of the former PM YB Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. "By the way, after YB Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi resigned as PM in April 2009, he was subsequently appointed the Advisor of MAS until now. Yours truly believes that he was appraised of WAU, the MAS-AirAsia share swap and the going-on in MAS after the said share swap. Hasbie Satar & YB Tan Sri Noor Mohammed Yaakop It was also during the tenure of Tun YB Abdullah Ahmad Badawi that YB Tan Sri Noor Mohammed Yaacop (Noor Yaakop) was the extremely powerful Minister of Finance II. Co-incidentally, Noor Yaacop's then Political Secretary, En Hasbie Satar, was arrested by MACC and charged for 28 counts for offenses alleged to have been committed in December 2008 and Jan 2009 under Anti-Money Laundering Act. It was alleged that MACC found in his possession million of Rinngit. After the disposal, MAS subsequently signed agreements to lease the aircrafts from PMB and MAS Komplek from Global Asset Network Sdn Bhd for 57 years. MAS also signed a back to back lop sided catering and cabin services contracts from MAS Catering Sdn Bhd for 25 years costing MAS a total of RM6.25 billion (RM250 million per year). After a few months of the disposal of the said 70% of MAS Catering Sdn Bhd to Gubahan, the name of MAS Catering Sdn Bhd was changed to LSG Sky Chef Brahim's Sdn Bhd." Folks, Azman Mokhtar was then made MD of Khazanah Nasional. Then Danny Yusuf got appointed as CEO of Aseambankers. Banyak cantik. Khazanah holds major stakes in the Maybank Group (the parent of Aseam). Then in 2010 Danny resigned from Aseam and joined Azman Mokhtar at Khazanah. And it has been musical chairs ever since. These GLC dunggus just get passed around here and there - like playing musical chairs. Leaving millions and billions of wrecked companies in their wake. And you and I will be bailing them out. Gomen guaranteed bonds, bottomless funding, never ending losses, yet another new business plan for MAS. And the dunggu Minister who began this culture of losing billions is still calling the shots.  |
