| Tian Chua, 'cikgu Kelantan' and others on police list Posted: 12 Mar 2013 09:42 PM PDT I was waiting for Home Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein or IGP Ismail Omar to say something about the kind of action to be taken against those who made derogatory remarks about our police and army and the 8 warriors who died while defending our sovereignty. It finally came - from deputy inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar. Khalid said action would be taken against individuals who made and disseminate disparaging remarks on the police's operations that led to the death of eight policemen and injuries of five others. It means that people like Tian Chua and a teacher from Kelantan who likened the police and the army as 'dogs' on his Facebook got nowhere to hide. They MUST face the consequences of their wrongdoings. I guess most Malaysians, irrespective of political ideologies are patriotic enough to condemn such remarks on the security forces, including the dead police and army personnel, and hope for these people to be taught a 'good lesson'. In the meantime, Inspector-General of Police Secretariat (public relations) assistant head ACP Ramli Mohamed Yusof said the police would take action against those who uploaded pictures of the slain policemen on social sites.Luckily, I am not one of them. I have seen some blogs and news portal, including FB fans posting pictures of the Lahad Datu war victims, something which I think is against the will of the respective families and next of kin. I personally deplore such an act as despicable. |
