The Chinese newspapers in this country are rarely sympathetic towards the Government; the harder you hit the authorities, the more copies you sell. On the anti-PTPTN protest ignited by Anwar Ibrahim, the Nanyang daily turns its guns on the Opposition pact of Pakatan Rakyat. In its editorial "Pakatan Rakyat Perbodoh-bodohkan Rakyat", the newspaper says it the Chinese are steadfast about one thing, it is about the need to repay one's debts. The writer describes this as "basic decency" and accuses Pakatan Rakyat politicians of failing to observe this and two other "basics". | ||
