Till Death Do Us Part : Dic-dato-ship Posted: 22 Sep 2012 02:57 AM PDT Has anyone been reading the I-Files lately? They are now up to Chapter 10. You can read it here : CHAPTER TEN: ANWAR IN FREE FALL I thought the following paragraph was worth noting : "It was also the end of the third chapter of Anwar's life, and the beginning of the fourth. Despite what he would have you believe, his sacking and his rapid race to the streets, followed by his trip to court, did not augur any change in the weather, nor did it change his political fortunes. It did, however, completely alter the way Malaysia functions as a polity; it energised and – paradoxically – permanently neutered the Opposition, adding a different old face to the old faces already so prevalent in the DAP and PAS." Many people do not realise that the Opposition is quite literally about to die a "natural death" quite soon. And also a political death. They have signed their own death warrant. Do read on. Before that, in today's Star I also read columnist Baradan Kuppuswamy here. There was a public forum held at the "Opposition friendly" St Paul's Church in Petaling Jaya, organised by Kairos, a church based think tank. However some of the forum speakers
Now lets get to the natural death part. Lim Kit Siang has now been the ruler of the DAP since 1968, a period of 44 years. And they call themselves a democratic party? Pi dah mabuk. Lim Kit Siang has ruled the DAP longer than Mao Tse Tung ruled China or Kim Il Sung ruled North Korea. And we called those autocrats "dictators". Mao Tse Tung was succeeded by his wife Chiang Ching. Kim IL Sung was succeeded by his son Kim Jong IL who was succeeded by his son Kim Jong Un. Now Kit Siang's son Lim Guan Eng is ready to rule the DAP, for what, another 25 years? And old man Lim Kit Siang has not relinquished his grip on the DAP even when his eyesight is failing him. Till death do us part then. Oh well. Over in the PAS, "Dato" Nik Aziz has said he will not leave his perch as Menteri Besar of Kelantan or mursyidul am of PAS unless he goes out feet first. Till death do us part. And "Dato" Hadi Besi will remain president of PAS most likely "till death do us part" as well. These are the dic-dato-ships that rule the Pakatan. The Opposition does not realise this but what has happened is that the Opposition has actually signed its own death warrant. There is NO second tier leadership within the Opposition. There are no succession plans within the Opposition. There cannot be a second tier leadership in the Opposition because their 'till death do us part' leaders just refuse to yield their positions. I have a question for the Opposition supporters - dont you people get bored or tired? I mean for the past 30 years and 40 years you have been hearing nothing new except what Kit Siang says, what Nik Aziz says, what Hadi Awang says, what Mat Sabu says, Karpal says, Mahfouz says. Even the subject has not changed - Karpal argues with Hadi Besi about the hudud. Lu orang tak boring ke? Macam tak ada orang lain. And macam tak ada isu lain? If the old leaders do not give way, there will be no room for new leaders. There will be no place for younger leaders to be groomed. Then when the 'natural causes' kick in and these dinosaurs kick the bucket, only then the Opposition will find out they have no second echelon to take over the leadership. There will be a scramble for power, fights will start, there will be schisms and splits in the ranks. If they really want to make reforms in this country can the Opposition support the idea to limit the tenure of the Prime Minister, Menteri Besars and Chief Ministers to just two terms? In the same manner, limit the tenure of your presidents to just two terms. This way there will be constant change in the party as well as in Government. Boleh ke tak boleh? Can or cannot? Just say yes or no. But when you are ruled by 'till death do us part' dic-datos, what is the difference between you and say Kim IL Sung or Mao Tse Tung? Serupa juga - semua dictator. The Pakatan has been shackled by this dic-dato-ship for the past 40 years. The same Karpals, Nik Aziz, Kit Siang, Hadi Besi etc have been clogging the men's room with their constipation. To all you Pakatan supporters, here is an OLD picture. I think this picture is about five years old : Tell me folks, since this picture was taken, do you think these guys have become any less constipated? Have they become any younger? And this is your leadership? Even their topic has not changed. The guy in the middle is still arguing about the same subject - 'hudud' - with the other two guys in the picture. Hudud, hudud, hudud. Till death do us part. Over in Barisan Nasional, the MCA has seen so much change. In the past nine years alone Ling Liong Sik was replaced by Ong Ka Ting who was replaced by Ong Tee Keat who was replaced by Chua Soi Lek. Even in MIC, Samy Vellu has gone and the new guy Palanivel does not seem too sturdy on the perch. I can suggest an alternative for Palanivel but better not. Nanti they will shoot down the new guy. (And who is the president of Gerakan ah?) In UMNO, Dr Mahathir is now nine years into retirement. In the nine years, he has been replaced by two party presidents. And if the BN does not fare as well in the next elections, there will be a new president in UMNO as well. Also in MCA and MIC too. In brief there is change in the BN. This is what Kairos, the St Paul's Church think tank has found out at its seminar ie "acknowledged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's reformist credentials". Well it is not just the PM but the entire BN has to change. And they are changing. This is where the Pakatan has failed and will continue to fail miserably. Now we come to the Pakatan's political death, or political suicide. Here I refer back Chapter 10 from the I-Files above : "permanently neutered the Opposition, adding a different old face to the old faces already so prevalent in the DAP and PAS." The Pakatan has permanently damaged itself when they decided to pick the Rear Admiral as their de factor leader. Anwar Ibrahim was thrown out of UMNO because he exhibited a propensity for base desires. This is what the party said. Then he was tried and found guilty of corruption in a Court of Law and sentenced to six years in jail. His offence was corrupt abuse of power in ordering the Police to arrest and torture a young woman who had written a signed letter (with her name and address, it was NOT an anonymous letter) accusing him of the same base behaviour. That judgement of the Court has never been succesfully challenged or overturned. The I-Files also reminds the reader that it was Karpal Singh who repeated Ummi Hafilda's accusations against Anwar Ibrahim in Parliament. This is recorded in the Parliamentary Hansard. So here was a man who was accused by none other than Karpal Singh of indulging in base behaviour. Then the Court also found him guilty of corruption in an attempt to criminally cover up his base behaviours. The Pakatan would pick this same person to lead the Opposition. This was the Pakatan's biggest mistake. The Pakatan have really swallowed their suicide pill. His name is Anwar Ibrahim. Money politics in UMNO were almost unheard of before 1993 when Ghafar Baba was ousted as Deputy President and Deputy Prime Minister. The amount of money used was huge - running into the tens of millions. And who was the Father of Money Politics? The following paragraphs in the latest I-Files also grabs my attention.
I have said it many times before - the Brader's problems are not his sexual preferences, his tall tales or his 'saya pemimpin Islam' bullshit. The guy is a dud, a moron, an incompetent. A 'Malay Studies' graduate not out of choice but necessity. A snake oil salesman in a land where the salesman's pitch is still more highly regarded than the snake. His significant advantage is that his tongue can move faster than his brain. Among supporters who are handicapped in both, he comes across as their hero. Or came across. It is in the past tense now. When it is empty upstairs, the brader has to make up for it by making promises after ridiculous promises (September 16 was one of them), play by subterfuge and intrigue (the PKR's internal party election fiasco was one of them) and keep his allies guessing (the inability to name a shadow Cabinet is another example) to stay in the game. He cannot show the full hand of cards he is holding because there arent many, or any. As Baradan Kuppuswamy of The Star writes : No mention is made of any shadow Cabinet precisely because Anwar is reluctant to be overshadowed by his "ministers" The brader knows his level of incompetence. He cannot have some young punk speaking intelligently about economics for example. It could make him look extremely stupid. So better not appoint any shadow Cabinet. He might get overshadowed. This is the person the Pakatan has hoisted upon its head as their de facto leader. And now it is too late to take him down. My condolences. After the biological clock finally removes the Kim IL Sungs and the Mao Tse Tungs what happens to the Pakatan? Who is going to lead the Pakatan five years from now? 10 years from now? Does it have to be the son of Lim Kit Siang only? Does it have to be the wife and daughter of Anwar Ibrahim only? The witches brew of dic-dato-ships will continue. |
Posted: 21 Sep 2012 04:42 AM PDT Hi folks. Came back from some power recharging on the beach and in the sun in Langkawi for a couple of days. While in Langkawi I received a phone call from one of the Ketua Pemuda's henchmen, complaining about my earlier Blog criticising the Pemuda UMNO's plans to demonstrate in front of the US Embassy. Today's papers (Friday 21/9/12) say they have cancelled their US Embassy stunt and shifted their demonstration to the Kampong Baru Mosque. I am going to pat myself on the back a little bit here. At least the Pemuda did not make too big a fool of themselves in front of the US Embassy. I wanted to say somethings about delusions and faith. This has nothing to do with politics. Delusions are simply beliefs in things that do not exist in reality or things that cannot exist in reality. Faith is simply belief. For example a deluded person can have great faith in his delusions. Based on the simple fact that a delusion cannot be real, it is a necessary condition that delusion must regard reality as an enemy. For delusion to succeed, reality is impossible to live with. Delusion must break off all relations with reality if one is to be blissfully delusional. The hermit or the cultists thus turn their backs on the world. Only then can they blissfully worship giant tea cups or other structures they may build with their own hands. Repeating a little here : delusions are not real. A delusion cannot exist in reality. A delusion can only exist in peoples' minds. For a delusion to exist in the human mind, there must be a vacuum in human thought processes. Therefore in order to survive, it is necessary for delusions to create their own vacuums, into which the delusion can then step in to fill up the void. To fill the vacuum the delusion must re-create the world in its own mould, shape or desire. And in a delusional world, all those enlightening, tangible features which sustain human life (aka the real world) must be blocked out. Reality is replaced by a delusion in conformity with the wishes of the founder or proponent of the delusion. It can be very tiring and frustrating to point out peoples' delusions. This is because the very nature of a delusion requires that its proponents will not recognise their delusions as such. "Me deluded? Who says so? I believe and I have faith." Of course reason and physical evidence can destroy delusions. Hence, for the delusional, the importance of faith or belief in their delusions. When reason and reality says 'You are delusional' the quick reply is 'I have faith, which you obviously dont have'. To illustrate this short note here are some pictures. The first picture is a statue of a khamdenu. This is a creature with the body of a cow, a human female's face, wings, a peacock's tail and such. This creature was known to Hinduism. Today, in the modern age, even Hindus acknowledge that the khamdenu is part of Hindu "mythology". Meaning it is not real. This is in the modern age. If anyone insisted in believing in this type of creature today, we could call him delusional. But what about during the time when the story of this khamdenu was current? It would still have been a delusion but it would have been current at that time. Many would have had faith in the delusion. Because here is a more modern representation of the khamdenu. This picture below here is possibly a picture from a calendar depicting Hindu gods. Now here is another picture of the Hindu god Indra riding on another winged creature ie a winged horse. A Pegassus. The person who invented this story either believed in it or he used it to his advantage. (Please ask yourselves : why would someone invent a delusion of this sort? Money of course. And power. The power to hold you in a trance, and then to reach into your pocket.) Here is a statuette of Indra's flying steed found in a temple in India. And below here is another winged creature, another winged horse. This is from Greek mythology. This is the Greek god Perseus riding the Pegassus, a winged horse. Greek mythology says that the Pegassus was "born" from the froth and the foam of the boiling sea after Perseus had killed the Medussa, the female god who had nine snakes on her head (instead of hair). Finally there is a Persian depiction of another flying ceature. This is a horse like creature with the face of a woman, long dark hair and with wings. I will not reproduce that picture here. But among all these pictures above, which ones are delusional and which ones are not? What about faith? Some people choose to have faith in some of these pictures. They say, "I have faith". If you tell them they are delusional, they can get quite flustered. They may even get angry. As I said, reality and reason are the enemy of delusion. Hence tools and weapons are needed to ward off reality. Anger is one of them. To conclude, ponder this story. A young child tells his mother with much eagerness, 'Santa Claus is coming tonite. ' The mother smiles. 30 years later, the son still tells his mother with much eagerness, "Santa Claus is coming tonite.' Surely the mother should cry. |
