Sedition Act Versus The ISA Versus Others

Posted: 13 Jul 2012 02:45 AM PDT

Given a choice I would repeal the Sedition Act and maintain the Internal Security Act. I need to say something about the Internal Security Act. For all those people who are against the ISA (for reasons that you yourself do not know why) why dont you go and live in Egypt, India, Pakistan or Phillipines for a few months. You will then see what can happen in our country if we did not have an Internal Security Act.

I would ask you to go and live in the USA or UK too but they already have the Patriot Act and the Terrorism Act respectively. The American Patriot Act puts our ISA in the kindergarten.

Under our ISA every detention is widely publicised and sooner or later everyone knows exactly where you will be detained - usually in Kamunting. If you go to Kamunting, you can even see the ISA detention centre just off the Kamunting road. Detainees play badminton and their families visit them.

Under the USA's Patriot Act you can be held in "black jails" in many strange countries around the world. Black jails are jails operated by one country on behalf of the United States of America. In this region I believe Thailand may be operating a "black jail" for the Americans under their Patriot Act.  Under the Patriot Act, the United States can arrest anyone they deem a threat to them and have him locked up in a 'black jail' without trial. And the term is indefinite. There are two Malaysians still being held in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba for over seven years now.  Our ISA does not come even close to the Patriot Act.

I have a question for all of you anti-ISA crapheads out there. If you do not agree with the ISA, why then do you agree with the US Patriot Act, you useless hypocrite munafiks? Why is it that none of you has raised even a whimper to protest the detention of those two Malaysians in Guantanamo Bay for seven years now under the Patriot Act?  Is it because they are Malays and Muslims? You racist hypocrites.

The anti-ISA crapheads also say that the ISA is not transparent and that there is no "due process".  'Due process' usually refers to the whole legal process of trying someone in an open court, complete with defense attorneys present.

Well I beg to differ. Granted there are no open court proceedings but it is untrue that there is no procedure that is followed. The ISA confers much power in the hands of the Minister. However in past practise the reccomendation to detain anyone came from the Police or other agencies entrusted with safeguarding the security of the country.  According to one IGP, other than the ridiculous ISA detention of that reporter for 18 hours (over which the Minister lost his job) there has never been an abuse of the ISA.

ISA detainees have gone on to become Ministers in the Government. When they were in Government they actively used the ISA for their own benefit. They never called for its repeal. The Bapa Rasuah Malaysia, Pencipta Politik Wang and Tokoh Liwat Negara is one good example. When he and his 'Beemer' friends were in power in the 90s, he even recommended for his old classmate and friends to be arrested under the ISA (for translating the Quran into Malay).  Fortunately saner minds thwarted his evil design.

There are also violent criminals, gang lords, drug kings and other dangerous undesirables who have also been detained under the ISA in the high security Simpang Renggam facility. Few people will want these people to be released on the streets. In a normal Court they will be acquitted because cogent evidence cannot be adduced against them. (These are the sort of people who can make witnesses disappear).  Few people will regret that these crazies are locked up.

Again, there is a process under which the ISA operates. It is not entirely without process. There are layers of investigation and filtration within the Police and the Ministry as well as other arms of Government which determine if a person should be detained under the ISA. The IGP and the Minister have the power to detain people under the ISA but it has to go through a process.

My view is we just have to tighten up or safeguard this process - if needed at all. (We do not want a reporter detained for 18 hours without any good reason and then let go.)  We do not have to repeal the ISA.  That was a wrong thing to do.

Which is why I am puzzled why the Government wants to repeal the Sedition Act. Whatever their reasons, this one I fully  support 100%. Yes we should repeal the Sedition Act completely. Just like the ISA, the Sedition Act was crafted by the Brits in 1948 when were still a British colony. It was worded to protect the British Monarch and British colonialism in Malaya.

After Independence we inherited both the ISA and the Sedition Act from the British Colonials. As a young nation with absolutely no nationally identifiable "axes of unity" or national institutions to push us together as a united nation, we needed to ensure that the many 'pull us apart' factors in the country at that time did not tear the country to shreds. The racist Communists, racist politics, ultra nationalists, religious fanatics and others were all throwing frogs and snakes into the broth. We had to manage our country and we have done an excellent job. Please do visit Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Thailand, Phillipines etc.

So the ISA and the Sedition Act played very important roles. I believe we have done a good job. However it is now 2012 and the time is long overdue to repeal the Sedition Act completely. I hope the new act 'National Harmony Act' will do just that. No one seems to know much about the new National Harmony Act.

The repeal of this Sedition Act should also bring into focus cases like that Uncleseekers fellow who has been saying all sorts of things about a sultan.  He has been arrested and remanded but not yet charged in Court for any offense (do correct me if I am wrong - I have not seen any more news about the guy).

If the Sedition Act is repealed will the monarchs be under protected, just protected or maybe over protected?  Under the new National Harmony Act will it be an offense to say things against the monarchs?

The next question is when will the Sedition Act be legally and lawfully repealed? Doesnt it have to go through a Parliamentary procedure? I believe the Internal Security Act is still in place because (to my knowledge) the new replacement Act has not yet been presented to Parliament.

I feel that because the majority of people in the country are Muslims, there are a few other laws that must be repealed permanently. One is the power of the lebai guys to ban religious books. This is a really silly and childish law that we really do not need.

And they abuse their power. They do not use their power to lebai all the satanic and pagan cerita hantu books or cerita hantu movies. They dont use their power to ban all the moronic  religious books that they write.

Why dont they ban those moronic books? Because it is their own lebai friends who write those books.  It is called 'you scratch my back, I scratch yours' aka cari makan.  They dont care that people who read those books are becoming super dunggus. But at the same time if anyone writes any book that can threaten their rice bowl, they just ban the book.

It is best to remove their power to ban religious books or books that have to do with religion.

Finally we must also repeal all the murtad laws as well as all the laws that have to do with ajaran sesat. You know all the enakmen agama which seeks to arrest and jail anyone who expresses a viewpoint that is not acceptable to the orthodox, the mainstream or whatever that is in power. All these enakmen agama should be repealed.

As long as we have these laws, not only do we remain a simplistic Third World people but we also nail ourselves inside the coffin.

If you dont allow the opposing viewpoint, how on earth are you going to know for sure if what you say is true?  It is just syok sendiri. And syok sendiri will not tell you when you are deviating.

Cuba fikir baik-baik : what if it is you who is the problem? What if it is you who is the real ajaran sesat?  If you do not allow freedom to speak and free discussion then how will you ever find out the truth?

Folks, can you hear that? Listen carefully. Can you hear that sound? Those are eight inch nails. They are being hammered into the coffin. Yours?

Reader Questions Syed Mokhtar Bukhari's Empire

Salam Tuan Syed.

Saya tak nak komen tentang isu TS Syed Mokhtar bukan anak tempatan sebagai sebab kenapa LGE tolak penswastaan Penang Port oleh Seaport Terminal Sdn. Bhd.

Kalau LGE mahu tahu, saya juga menentang TS Syed Mokhtar mengambilalih Penang Port. Tapi bukan pasal dia orang Kedah tetapi pasal saya banyak tak suka sama itu TS Syed Mokhtar kerana habis dia kebas semua projek penswastaan negara.

Don't get me wrong, saya tak menentang beliau secara pribadi.

Asyik2 Syed Mokhtar, asyik2 Syed Mokhtar. Frankly speaking, do we believe that not even a single other Malay is able to take over these privatisation projects?

Saudis Auctioning Life For Money

Posted: 12 Jul 2012 04:54 AM PDT

I received the following from a friend. It is on You Tube here :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ha94Xz59dg

The video recording says it is an auction in Saudi Arabia. A father is auctioning off his son to die as a "suicide bomber" in Syria. The targeted place in Syria is mentioned - you can read the subtitles.

Most certainly thousands of 'suicide bombers' have blown themselves up already. This is a fact. Most certainly they are recruited. Most certainly money compensation is also paid to their families.

Therefore I am inclined to believe that these auctions do take place and that this particular auction also did take place in Saudi Arabia.

Watch the video. The hero here is the father who is "sacrificing" his son's life.  And I believe the son (the suicide bomber) is also in the picture - the tall thin boy who looks so like my son.   (My son is now in university, studying and doing all the regular things that young men his age should be doing). These are not poor people. This is Saudi Arabia. They are in a nice big hotel with expensive furnishings. Yet their sons are willing to become suicide bombers and their fathers are willing to auction off their sons.   My conclusion follows :

The Syrian woman is asking a simple question : why do the Saudis send their suicide bombers to kill people in Syria?

Of a certainty these people are not Muslims. They can auction their own sons to become suicide bombers to go and kill other human beings. They have become animals. Actually they have become worse than animals.

Surah 25:44 "Do you think that most of them hear, or understand? They are just like animals; no, they are far worse"
